Soft wash versus pressure wash

Soft washing is a method for house washing using low-pressure water with sodium hypochlorite, algaecides, and surfactants for exterior cleaning. It is safe on delicate items. The nozzles are used to determine the low pressure. It is better to use this gentle but potent method on houses and roofs, rather than pressure washing because it is more effective to gently remove organic growth rather than blast everything off.

Pressure washing is the opposite of soft washing by using high pressure and can destroy the shingles or siding of a house. When people use a surface cleaner, which is a device for pressure washing, on tiled roofs, it can potentially break off pieces. Scrubbing moss on roofs can take off granules on the shingles as well. Pressure washing does not always need a cleaning solution because it can depend on its high pressure to take everything off. It is effective on concrete.

We always use soft wash when cleaning siding and roofs. The cleaning solutions that Billy Goat Gutter Cleaning LLC uses are biodegradable such as sodium hypochlorite. They do the work instead of psi. Soft washing allows us to have more precise metering of the solutions we use through our blend manifold. When we house wash, we use surfactants that leave the building smelling like brand new.
